The 2004 stimulation was aimed at improving the hydraulic performances of the well GPK4 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK4). This borehole was stimulated twice. The 2004 episode corresponds to the first stimulation of GPK4. 9300 m3 of water were injected during the test at a constant flowrate of 30 l/s, with peaks up to 45 l/s. A low flow injection test of GPK4 was performed before the stimulation to evaluate the initial injectivity of the well. The data from the injection test are included too. Dates of the 2004 hydraulic programme: - GPK4 low flow injection: from 10:38 08/09/2004 to 10:00 12/09/2004. - GPK4 stimulation: from 08:32 13/09/2004 to 20:00 16/09/2004. The Episode contains the following datasets: - Microseismic catalogue of the downhole network by B.C. Microseismic catalogue of the 2000 episode at Soultz-sous-Forêts calculated by B. Dyer (Semore Seismic) using the downhole network. Number of events: 13986. Microseismic monitoring of the hydraulic program at Soultz took place between June 30th and July 18th. During the program, a total of 31511 potential seismic events were recorded from which 13986 seismic events were located. The catalogue covers the two hydraulic tests realized during the 2000 episode. Only the events with an RMS misfit <10 ms were accepted. Time corresponding to the corrected waveforms distributed on the CDGP has been added. Time period: 30/06/2000 19:09:38 - 19/07/2000 07:54:17 (UTC time). The data parameters are the following: Column 1: Event number Column 2: Date (local) Column 3: Time (local) Column 4: Date (UTC) * Column 5: Time (UTC) * Column 6: Date corresponding to the corrected waveforms distributed by the CDGP (UTC) ** Column 7: Time corresponding to the corrected waveforms distributed by the CDGP (UTC) ** Column 8: Easting from GPK1 wellhead *** Column 9: Northing from GPK1 wellhead *** Column 10: Depth from GPK1 wellhead *** Column 11: Latitude WGS84 **** Column 12: Longitude WGS84 **** Column 13: Elevation WGS84 **** * The UTC time has been calculated from the local time. ** Some date and time corresponding to the corrected waveforms are missing. Discrepancies in the time were found with the waveforms for 87 events. Thus, the time corresponding to the corrected waveforms is given for 13899 events only. *** The local coordinate system is based on the UTM32 system. **** Latitude, longitude and elevation have been derived from easting, northing and depth from GPK1 wellhead. The description of the downhole network is available (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSFS2000-downhole_network). The seismological waveforms recorded by the downhole and the surface network during the 2000 episode are available (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSFS2000-Waveforms). The downhole microseismic network in 2004 and 2005 consisted of three accelerometers (4-component sensors) built by the CSMA and three Calidus type high temperature 3-component geophone receivers. The three accelerometers were located in boreholes 4550, 4601 and EPS1. The three geophones were located in boreholes OPS4, GPK1 and 4616. The geophone in 4616 was a passive Calidus type 3 component sensor. It was deployed at the end of June 2004. This sensor had no downhole gain and was used to monitor larger events that saturate the rest of the network at around 2.3 ML during the monitoring. The majority of the events were too small to be detected by this tool so it brought little benefit to the location. It was also quite close to 4550 and so has not been used for the microseismic event locations (Dyer, B.C., 2005.Soultz GPK4 stimulation September 2004 to April 2005. Seismic monitoring report). The X,Y,Z coordinates in the file refer to the local coordinate system with the GPK1 wellhead as origin: X: Easting in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward magnetic East) Y: Northing in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward magnetic North) Z: Depth in meters from GPK1 wellhead The local coordinate system is based on the UTM32 system. The coordinates of the stations in the local coordinate system have been obtained from the Semore Seismic report for Socomine by B.C. Dyer, 2005 (Soultz GPK4 stimulation September 2004 to April 2005. Seismic monitoring report). The latitude, longitude and elevation in the WGS84 coordinate system have been derived from the local coordinate system. Last update of data: 25/02/2022

The 2010 circulation test began in November 2009 after a maintenance period and lasted until October 2010, when a new maintenance period was programmed. This 11-month experiment is the longest circulation ever performed on the Soultz project. During the test, GPK2 was used as production well (with Line Shaft Pump), GPK3 and GPK1 as reinjection wells (Cuenot, N., Genter, A., 2015. Microseismic Activity Induced During Recent Circulation Tests at the Soultz-sous-Forêts EGS Power Plant). The Episode contains several datasets which you can find further down the page in "Links".
