The location of events was performed using an automatic procedure for detecting and picking the seismic phases. About 7500 triggers were detected and 4728 events were finally located using at least eight P- and three S-arrival times with a root mean square (rms) lower than 0.04 s. • Velocity model used by M. Calò and C. Dorbath. The velocity was derived from sonic logs operated by Schlumberger in GPK1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK1) and from transit times for shots fired inside GPK1 at different levels and recorded on the IMRG downhole network (Beauce et al., 1991). The catalogue of events located during 2003 stimulation using the downhole and the surface network is available here (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSFS2003-catalogue). Last update of data: 18/09/2019

  • Before the 2003 episode, a permanent network designed to monitor the microseismic activity at Soultz-sous-Forêts was installed by EOST (Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre) from the Strasbourg University. It consisted of nine stations, six one-component and three three-component sensors. The network was operational just before the 2003 stimulation of GPK3 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK3). A temporary network of fourteen seismometers (six three-component and eight one-component) was added to this permanent network. Contrary to the 2000 episode, all the fourteen stations of the temporary network were continuously recording. In addition to the network under the responsibility of EOST, a broad-band Güralp sensor was used mostly for waveform analysis. Two other accelerometers completed the surface monitoring system too. The coordinates of the stations have been obtained from RESIF (https://www.resif.fr/">https://www.resif.fr). Last update of data: 03/02/2020

  • Seismological signals acquired at Soultz-sous-Forêts during the 2003 Stimulation episode. The waveforms were recorded by a downhole and a surface seismological network during the hydraulic stimulation of well GPK3 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK3) and the circulation test betweeen GPK2 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK2) and GPK3. The downhole seismological network consisted of 6 stations and the surface network of 25 stations. The complete description of the downhole seismological network is available (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSFS2003-downhole_network). Up to now, there are only data for 4550 station. The complete description of the surface seismological network is available (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSFS2003-Surface_network).
