The downhole microseismic network in 2004 and 2005 consisted of three accelerometers (4-component sensors) built by the CSMA and three Calidus type high temperature 3-component geophone receivers. The three accelerometers were located in boreholes 4550, 4601 and EPS1. The three geophones were located in boreholes OPS4, GPK1 and 4616. The geophone in 4616 was a passive Calidus type 3 component sensor. It was deployed at the end of June 2004. This sensor had no downhole gain and was used to monitor larger events that saturate the rest of the network at around 2.3 ML during the monitoring. The majority of the events were too small to be detected by this tool so it brought little benefit to the location. It was also quite close to 4550 and so has not been used for the microseismic event locations (Dyer, B.C., 2005.Soultz GPK4 stimulation September 2004 to April 2005. Seismic monitoring report). The X,Y,Z coordinates in the file refer to the local coordinate system with the GPK1 wellhead as origin: X: Easting in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward magnetic East) Y: Northing in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward magnetic North) Z: Depth in meters from GPK1 wellhead The local coordinate system is based on the UTM32 system. The coordinates of the stations in the local coordinate system have been obtained from the Semore Seismic report for Socomine by B.C. Dyer, 2005 (Soultz GPK4 stimulation September 2004 to April 2005. Seismic monitoring report). The latitude, longitude and elevation in the WGS84 coordinate system have been derived from the local coordinate system. Last update of data: 25/02/2022

The 2004 stimulation was aimed at improving the hydraulic performances of the well GPK4 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK4). This borehole was stimulated twice. The 2004 episode corresponds to the first stimulation of GPK4. 9300 m3 of water were injected during the test at a constant flowrate of 30 l/s, with peaks up to 45 l/s. A low flow injection test of GPK4 was performed before the stimulation to evaluate the initial injectivity of the well. The data from the injection test are included too. Dates of the 2004 hydraulic programme: - GPK4 low flow injection: from 10:38 08/09/2004 to 10:00 12/09/2004. - GPK4 stimulation: from 08:32 13/09/2004 to 20:00 16/09/2004. The Episode contains the following datasets: - Microseismic catalogue of the downhole network by B.C. The location of events was performed using an automatic procedure for detecting and picking the seismic phases. About 7500 triggers were detected and 4728 events were finally located using at least eight P- and three S-arrival times with a root mean square (rms) lower than 0.04 s. Time period: 27/05/2003 18:37:50 - 12/07/2003 20:31:00 (UTC time). The data parameters are the following: Column 1: Event ID Column 2: Date (UTC) Column 3: Time (UTC) Column 4: Latitude WGS84 Column 5: Longitude WGS84 Column 6: Elevation WGS84 Column 7: Magnitude Column 8: RMS Last update of data: 13/09/2019
