The EstOF network consists in 288 miniaturized seismic stations (Zland nodes, 1C, 10Hz) installed between August 25th 2014 and September 30th 2014 in the Outre-Forêt region (Alsace, France) around the deep geothermal sites of Soultz-sous-Forêts and Rittershoffen. A regular grid of 260 stations separated by ~1.4km forms the backbone of the network, which was completed by a denser array of 28 stations every ~400m around the Rittershoffen site. This data has been acquired in the framework of the LABEX ANR-11-LABX-0050-G-EAU-THERMIE-PROFONDE and benefits from a funding from the state managed by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as part of the ‘Investments for the Future’ program. It has also been funded by the EGS Alsace Grant from ADEME. The seismic equipment was deployed during the summer 2014 by the EstOF Team : J. Vergne, M. Bès de Berc, H. Blumentritt, N. Cuenot, C. Doubre, R. Dretzen, Z. Duputel, F. Engels, M. Grunberg, H. Jund, S. Lambotte, O. Lançon, M. Lehujeur, O. Lengliné, A. Maggi, V. Maurer, M. Schaming, J. Schmittbuhl, H. Wodling. Equipment and support was provided by the Fairfield Nodal company during the EstOF experiment. Details of the experiment and data analysis can be found in : Lehujeur, M., Vergne, J., Schmittbuhl, J., Zigone, D., Le Chenadec, A. and the EstOF Team (2018) - Reservoir imaging using ambient noise correlation from a dense seismic network. The aim of the GeORG project (Geopotentials of the deep Upper Rhine Graben, https://www.geopotenziale.org/home/index_html) was to create a 3D model of the geological structure of the Upper Rhine Graben down to a depth of several kilometers. The project began in October 2008 and ended in December 2012. GeORG offers a complete geoscientific information base. Maps showing the deep structure and spatial distribution of geological layers and temperatures have been extracted. Geological cross-sections can be generated over the entire study area and in all directions. These show the stratigraphic position and stacking of layers in space. GeORG has created an information access platform for companies, public and private project developers and research organizations. The results are accessible to all at https://maps.geopotenziale.eu. Several products from the GeORG mapviewer around Soutz-sous-Forêts geothermal site are extracted.

Before the 2003 episode, a permanent network designed to monitor the microseismic activity at Soultz-sous-Forêts was installed by EOST (Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre) from the Strasbourg University. It consisted of nine stations, six one-component and three three-component sensors. The network was operational just before the 2003 stimulation of GPK3 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK3). A temporary network of fourteen seismometers (six three-component and eight one-component) was added to this permanent network. Contrary to the 2000 episode, all the fourteen stations of the temporary network were continuously recording. In addition to the network under the responsibility of EOST, a broad-band Güralp sensor was used mostly for waveform analysis. Two other accelerometers completed the surface monitoring system too. The coordinates of the stations have been obtained from RESIF (https://www.resif.fr/">https://www.resif.fr). Last update of data: 03/02/2020
