  • Microseismic catalogue of the surface network recorded at Rittershoffen during the field operations between 2012 and 2014. Calculated by ÉS-Géothermie. Number of events: 1348. The microseismic events were recorded during the drilling of the two wells and the hydraulic tests realized at GRT-1. No seismic event was recorded during the hydraulic tests realized at GRT-2. Time period: 29/11/2012 22:23:32 to 26/05/2014 23:43:55. The data parameters are the following: Column 1: Date Column 2: Origin time (UTC) Column 3: Easting in extended Lambert II coordinate system Column 4: Northing in extended Lambert II coordinate system Column 5: Latitude in WGS84 coordinate system * Column 6: Longitude in WGS84 coordinate system * Column 7: Depth (true vertical depth below sea level) Column 8: Local magnitude (vertical component) Column 9: Azimuth of the small uncertainty axis Column 10: Dip of the small uncertainty axis Column 11: Azimuth of the middle uncertainty axis Column 12: Dip of the middle uncertainty axis Column 13: Smallest uncertainty Column 14: Middle uncertainty Column 15: Largest uncertainty Column 16: Recorded period (0-GRT-1 drilling, 1-GRT-1 thermal stimulation, 20-GRT-1 hydraulic stimulation, 21-GRT-1 burst of seismicity and 3-GRT-2 drilling) * Latitude and longitude in the WGS84 coordinate system have been derived from easting and northing in extended Lambert II. • Interval seismic velocities applied to the 3D velocity model. Vp, Vs and Vp/Vs values for each formation along GRT-1 well. Original data from Maurer et al., 2020

  • The microseismic monitoring at Rittershoffen began 6 months before any drilling. Four permanent stations were deployed at the surface in 2012 and completed the network of eight surface stations from the Soultz-sous-Forêts network. The permanent network is composed of one or three-components seismometers. A temporary network of 31 stations (TOPASE network) was deployed from June 2013 to November 2014 to improve the dectection and location of the seismic monitoring during the field development operations. The stations of the temporary network were three-component seismometers belonging to the Geophysical Instrument Pool Potsdam (GIPP) of the GFZ German Research Centre for Geosciences. Easting and northing in the file refer to the extended Lambert II Cartesian system. The latitude and longitude in the WGS84 coordinate system have been derived from the extended Lambert II Cartesian system. • Focal mechanisms of seismic events, which occurred during the thermal and hydraulic stimulations, the 2013 July burst and the GRT-2 drilling. Two earthquakes per seismogenic period were considered. More information about the determination of the focal mechanisms and the selection of events is available in the article from Maurer, V. et al., 2020, Seismicity induced during the development of the Rittershoffen geothermal field, France. The data parameters are the following: Column 1: Period Column 2: Date Column 3: Time (UTC) Column 4: Easting (m) Column 5: Northing (m) Column 6: Depth (m TVD MSL) Column 7: Latitude (°) * Column 8: Longitude (°) * Column 9: Mlv Column 10: NPOL Column 11: Dip (°) Column 12: Strike (°) Column 13: Rake (°) * The latitude and longitude in the WGS84 coordinate system have been derived from the extended Lambert II Cartesian system.
