In 1996, three new accelerometers (4-component sensors) built by the CSMA and one hydrophone were deployed. As in past years, the 4-component sondes were located in boreholes 4616 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-4616), 4601 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-4601) and 4550 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-4550) within the granite and the hydrophone was deployed in EPS1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-EPS1). Unlike the previous episodes, the accelerometers were not grouted in the boreholes. The X,Y,Z coordinates in the file refer to the local coordinate system with the GPK1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK1) wellhead as origin: X: Easting in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward UTM32 East) Y: Northing in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward UTM32 North) Z: Depth in meters from GPK1 wellhead The local coordinate system is based on the UTM32 system. The coordinates of the stations in the local coordinate system have been obtained from the CSMA report for Socomine by Jones and Jupe, 1997 (Microseismic results from the Soultz 1996 experimental programme). A series of hydraulic tests were performed from August to October 1996 at the GPK2 well (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK2). First a production test was conducted in August to determine the productivity of the well. The production test was followed by a second stimulation of GPK2 after the previous one in 1995. The open hole section of the well was re-stimulated at flowrates up to 78 l/s. A total of 28000 m3 of fluid was injected during the test. The stimulation was followed by a stepped injection test to determine the injectivity of the well after the stimulation. Finally, two circulation tests during which the water produced from GPK2 was reinjected in GPK1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK1) were performed in October 1996. About 7500 microseismic events were detected during the experiments, and about 5700 were located. Velocity model used by M. Calò and C. Dorbath. The velocity was derived from sonic logs operated by Schlumberger in GPK1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK1) and from transit times for shots fired inside GPK1 at different levels and recorded on the IMRG downhole network (Beauce et al., 1991). In June and July 1994, the hydraulic experimental programme consisted of a production test and an injection test at GPK1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-GPK1). During the production test in June, EPS1 (https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSF-EPS1) was used as injection well. A total of 6200 m3 of fluid were produced during the test. Then the injection test in July was intended to determine the injectivity of the stimulated fracture system as a function of the flowrate. A total of 9600 m3 of water were injected at various flowrates during the test (Baria, R., 1996.The European HDR programme 1992 - 1995). The microseismic network in operation during the 1995 stimulation, injection and circulation experiments represents a slightly modified version of the 1993 system. It consisted of accelerometers (4-component sensors) built by the CSMA in boreholes 4550, 4601, 4616 and of a single hydrophone in EPS1. These sensors were used throughout the 1995 experimental programme. A further hydrophone was deployed in GPK1 at a depth of 3480m to monitor the brine injection (Wilson, S.A., Jupe, A.J., Jones R.H. and Dyer, B., 1996.Microseismic results from the 1995 Soultz experimental programme, CSMA Report for Socomine, January 1996.). The X,Y,Z coordinates in the file refer to the local coordinate system with the GPK1 wellhead as origin: X: Easting in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward magnetic East) Y: Northing in meters from GPK1 wellhead (toward magnetic North) Z: Depth in meters from GPK1 wellhead The local coordinate system is based on the UTM32 system. The coordinates of the stations in the local coordinate system have been obtained from the thesis of S. Bourouis (Sismicité induite et comportement mécanique d'un massif granitique fracturé par injection d'eau). The exact coordinates of the GPK1 hydrophone have not been retrieved and so are not in the file. Microseismic catalogue with local magnitude of the 2000 episode at Soultz-sous-Forêts calculated by B. Dyer (Semore Seismic) using the surface network. Number of events: 51. Microseismic monitoring of the hydraulic programme at Soultz took place between June 30th and July 18th. The catalogue contains the 51 largest events detected on the surface network during the 2000 episode. Each event identity and location in the catalogue was assigned by correlating the times of the events on the surface network with the times of the microseismic events from the catalogue of the downhole network of B. Dyer (available https://cdgp.u-strasbg.fr/geonetwork/srv/fre/catalog.search#/metadata/SSFS2000-catalogue_downhole). Some discrepancies of few minutes for a same event between the two catalogues are possible because of the gap in time between the twok clocks on the two data acquisition systems. Some locations are missing because of insufficient picks, due to noise, or insufficient data, due to one or more sensors being inoperative. Time period: 30/06/2000 23:09 - 25/07/2000 09:06 (UTC time).
