World Digital Magnetic anomaly Map (WDMAM)
Broader concept
Description
- The World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map is an international scientific project under the auspices of International Association of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy (IAGA) and the Commission for the Geological Map of the World (CGMW), aiming to compile and make available magnetic anomalies caused by the Earth lithosphere, on continental and oceanic areas, in a comprehensive way, all over the World. The WDMAM is a grid given in a reference geodetic system which spatial resolution is adapted but coherent among available datasets: small spatial scales where local surveys are available, long wavelengths derived from satellite data and models. The first version was delivered in 2003.
