Description
- A localized area or volume generating coherent, usually transient seismic waveforms, such as an earthquake, explosion, vibrator etc.
- A seismic source is a construct developed for seismic hazard analysis as a means of approximating the locations of earthquake occurrences. A seismic source is defined as a region of the earth's crust that have relatively uniform seismicity characteristics, and is distinct from those of neighboring sources.
